Guate: Here I Am!
This is just a crazy thing
But what else would I expect?
From a daring, status-quo defying Creator and Overseer of my soul: typical.
I'm sitting here in Casa Bernabé, Guatemala, with the sound of blaring music and screaming children obliterating a piñata in the background. Ricoooooooooo.
How did all of this happen? God. I could end there and the reason, means and goal would be established. But, let me explain to try and show how God has so amazingly worked.
As many of you know, this place has been on my heart since the first time I came in 2012. Through 2 summer-long trips, a wedding here, and continued relationships, it's presence has been constant through the years. After leaving France, my life was more up in the air than a swingin' piñata. But what that meant was openness for God to take me wherever He wanted next: Casa Bernabé (in case that hasn't been clear). This call was so confirmed in fundraising for 6 months, and how God provided ALL. It was hard. I doubted way more than I should have (shocker), financially and in this calling. But through this all I can say is: He is faithful. No diggity no doubt.
I will be serving here for the next year- YEAR! It's been a month so far, and I'm still excited for the new projects and relationships here that God has. I'll be sharing snippets of life, ranging from the exciting adventures to the frustration and lessons learned.
Thank you so much to all who have been so involved and supportive through all of this-- I am so excited to continue this journey with all of you :)
Peace and Love,
Julia
